Companies use surveys to gauge consumer responses to potential products, services or marketing campaigns. Prior to the Internet, the companies had to hire an agency to put surveyors in shopping malls and other high traffic locations to get the feedback they desire.
While this practice is still used as are phone surveys, much of the focus has switched to the Internet as a place to quickly gather data.
To entice you to take the time to complete their surveys, companies often offer cash or prizes as rewards.
Some people seek out these surveys as a way to make a few extra to several hundred extra dollars each month.
